Lake Forest is a neighborhood in East Round Rock set just north of Gattis School Road and stretches across Forest Creek Drive. The Forest Ridge neighborhood sits directly to the east of the neighborhood while Sonoma lies to the west. Schools in Lake Forest

Round Rock ISD oversees over 30 elementary schools, 10 middle schools and 5 high schools. Over 45,000 students attend the schools in the district, which stretches into North Austin and parts of Cedar Park. According to the district, the number of students enrolled in Round Rock ISD schools has increased 15% in the last five years. Continued growth is expected as more subdivisions are built in the areas served by RRISD.
